FNSI for March

Before we can blink it's the third Friday of the month and time to join Wendy and friends for FNSI.  Even though I under went carpal tunnel surgery on Tuesday I wanted to join in as I've not missed a Friday night since I joined in November 2009.

I have had a "Scrap Bag" with a bit of a hotch pot Jelly Roll in that I decided I could sew three strips together and later when I can use the rotary cutter cut into 6" blocks.

They will make a great fence and rail  community quilt.

and I found a bag of  "I Spy" blocks

which were easy to sew together as well...

ironing I did find challenging left handed so will also leave that for later

I enjoyed sewing along with my virtual friends and Wendy and look forward to seeing what others worked on over the weekend..

Must away and rest..

Stay safe and well.

Hugs  Maria ❤

March RSC and Aussie Hero Blocks...

It's been a terrible week so I don't listen to the news as it just makes me sad instead I hide away in the Cave and sew.....

First I went through my scrap box to find some yellows/golds which is the colour for this months RSC with Angela....

I'm doing "Delectable Mountain"and"Half Log Cabin" for my blocks this year....
The Mystery Block for this month is called " Autumn Star" for "Aussie Hero's"

It has Navy Blue ,Orange, light Grey and  White ... I like this block and look forward to it being made into a quilt.

I have a question for you ????
When does a WIP ( work in progress) become a UFO ???????

Thinking of all who are doing it stuff,
keep safe and well

Busy week and OPAM finishes.

It's been a crazy busy week as Hubby's been away and I like to get some jobs done without interruptions.....So I went into town and bought paint to redo the verandah.

I had cleared everything out the way even " Horrible Horus"

Sadly I walked too close to those barbs

and he attacked me..... Ouch!!!

Why is it when you do one job it leads to others.

I scrubbed all the black blinds and took all the outdoor chairs on the lawn and washed them while the cushion covers were in the washing machine...
Covers dried and back on, just need to stitch them.
in the evenings I was cutting fabric for the Wedding Ring Quilt and getting organised and packed ready for our Stay at Home Retreat which started last Friday evening.

getting the two curves to meet was tricky but got this done before going home for the night...

Over the weekend I made three rings before putting it aside to work on an easier project.

It was so good to just sit and sew while chatting with all the ladies an having all our meals made for us...
was the perfect end to a busy week.....

The lovely KRIS from Tag-a-long Teddies is organising us again for
OPAM this year. It's not to late to join in . just click on the above link .

Here are my finishes for February..
1... Urban Owls

and the set of place mats and coasters for the caravan...

Thinking of you all at this difficult time , keep safe and well....

Catching up and FNSI

Since my last post two weeks ago I have been busy quilting and in between made some small projects.

A set of place mats and coasters for the van....

also another bookmark
and yesterday I had an early start to join the lovely Wendy and friends for FNSI. and I finally sewed  the binding for on      "URBAN OWLS"

I sew most of my bindings on by machine so back first and then pin ready to sew on the front . I didn't realise I'd been attacked by the pins until I saw blood spots as I sewed...

Thankfully the old spit thing worked and all spots removed ...

and finally I have
FINISHED "URBAN OWLS "
label and all.
It was a marathon....... I started this quilt when were in lock down way back in March 2020. using favorite fabrics stored in my cupboard for many years waiting for the right project......

As it was still early I cleaned the machine popped in a new needle and cut out some of the pieces needed for the "Double Wedding Ring " quilt  made with templates. It is a Patch club project which we'll be doing at our "Stay at Home Retreat " next weekend.

Must away as it's time for bed.

Keep safe and well and hope you have time to stitch.

Hugs Maria  ❤

I've tried several times to change my email address to the old one but can't ......So you can see why I'm not Happy Jan.....

Sorry if I don't get to answer you comment.

Must away to make a strong coffee.
