Made It !!!!

Even though I have worked on many different project this month I didn't have a complete finish for OPAM organised by Kris..  so good to know she's there to give us that extra push.. Thanks so much Kris...

So this week I popped the "Piggies" under my machine that I got pinned and sandwiched at last weekends retreat and got it done...

It was so windy this afternoon it was hard to get a good photo

I just kept clicking and hoped for a reasonable one..

Many years ago bloggers did a lot of swaps and I received many lovely tea towels that I use every day but sadly they are all wearing out. I love them and think of the ladies who made and sent each one.... SO I was wondering if anyone would like to "Tizzy up " a tea towel and do a swap with me.. JUST A TEA TOWEL nothing else.... Easy to pop in a large envelope.

No time limit , just a fun swap to do.

Let me know in your comment ,I will then send you my snail mail address and you can reply with yours...

Take care and have a fun weekend , especially those who are finally out of lock down.

Hugs  Maria ❤

Busy Week

Last Monday it was time to do some domestic work then Tuesday packed for a quick trip to the big smoke for an appointment. Even though it was short I enjoyed seeing my DD2 and family and some shopping. Thursday there was a pile of washing to do and I'm pleased I popped in two colour catchers in the dark load as I put in the new jeans I bought....

Friday I needed to organise some projects to take to our Stay at Home retreat ..

Friday 4pm to Sunday 4pm....

All packed ready to go.....

I love these weekends as they are fully catered by a lovely lady and we can just sit and sew into the evening as long as we like and then home to our own bed ...

worked on Toni's "Down Under" blocks..

then finally sanded and pinned "The Piggies and Friends" also a Toni design

Decided I wanted to make the "Down Under" quilt a bit wider so got busy making some flying geese blocks..

after cutting and ironing the first step I was happily stitching on step 2 and it wasn't till I'd done the whole pile I realised the bobbin had run out...

Only 6 were finished and the other 18 only had a nice row of holes... GRRR!!

Oh nearly forgot to show you "Mr Snake"  another design by Toni from Red Boot Quilt Company the next flimsy I started.....

Pleased I did this post before another week fly's by ....

Must away now and pop on the kettle...

Have a great week, keep safe and well,

Hugs  Maria ❤

FNSI for October 2021

I joined Wendy and the ladies yesterday for FNSI so thought I'd make an early start before getting dinner but just checked my emails first ... Was pleased to see an invite from Chooky to join in for a short Zoom GTG... Was lovely to catch up with a few ladies and while we chatted I did some stitching on my Kawandi table runner.......

Ever since I saw Anorina's on her blog Samella's Mum I've wanted try this technic. It's very slow going but I'm enjoying it ...

After dinner I traced some more Aussie animals for the Down Under Quilt designed by Toni from Red Boot Quilt Company

and did some machine applique before calling it a night....

Thanks Wendy for organising us again and you can pop over HERE to see what others have worked....

Well must away as it's that time again to go to bed...

Take care and stay well.

Hugs  Maria ❤

Catching up and sign ups for FNSI...

I seem to have been all over the place the past week and a half.... this is what my cutting table looked like as I worked on many different projects...

I made 4 " Aussie Hero " blocks called "Pathways"

at the same time I sewed some of these blocks to go on the next Row by Row I'm in at Patch...

The lady requested  "Scrappy" so I think these fit well....

Also for Patch we were all asked to make 6 X 6 1/2" Wonky Star blocks which will be made into our raffle quilt...

I just wasn't happy with them...they didn't look right??

I soon found out what I did wrong when I saw all the others ... I took them home to do some reverse sewing and now they'er right..

Also sandwiched , pinned and quilted this baby quilt which is a community one our group will donate...

Then I mended hubby's Aussie Flag quilt AGAIN..... he just doesn't what to part with it.......

Really! it needs to be replaced but I said I'd patch it one more time !!!!

Now I'm all caught up I'm ready to do some fun sewing so I have joined Wendy for FNSI. I always enjoy sewing along with our virtual friends so don't forget to join in the fun over HERE ....

Must away and get ready to go bed.....

Keep well and I hope you get time to stitch,

Hugs  Maria ❤

FnwFs for October 2021

The first Friday of October has sneaked up on us so it was time to join Cheryll for FnwFs.........

As my WOOFA  project was still under the machine spent time doing more quilting....

After a few hours of pushing and pulling the quilt through the machine I gave up and made some Soap Sacks to put in the parcel for Jan Mac.. Nice quick and easy sewing....

Then to finish off the evening I sat and completed the crochet around another block....

Thanks Cheryll for organising us for another FnwFs,,,,,,

Must away and pop on the kettle...

Keep safe and well

My Little Jelly Roll Quilt.....

Last Saturday was National Jelly Roll Day   and as I had a small Blue and White one in the cupboard thought I'd join in and make a small baby quilt. After sewing three strips together I cross cut them into 6 1/2" squares ... I tried several different lay outs and wasn't happy with any. As it was a beautiful sunny day I decided to go out on the ride on for a few hours and mow the block.....

After my walk on Monday I sewed the blocks together, quilted yesterday and today I attached the binding....

I am happy with this cute little boys quilt now...

Last week the bundle of "Garden Life" by Tilda arrived which I bought to make a table runner for a lady at Patch who will have a special 0 birthday soon.

After seeing a table runner  made by Anorina at Samelia's Mum blog using the Kawandi style I've wanted to try that Technic. Thought this nice soft fabric would be good to use..... Wonder how I'll go?????

Must away and bring in the washing,

Thinking of all in lock down, keep safe and well.

Hugs  Maria ❤
