With the lovely KRIS from Tag Along Teddies for OPAM again this year ......
Can you see how many finishes we have all achieved over the years by joining in first with Peg (sadly she doesn't have time to blog anymore) and Kris and for the past few years Kris has run it alone...
You can pop over HERE to join in and Kris kindly draws a winner each month for one of her pretty patterns....
The "Twisted Windmills" are under the machine being quilted , hopefully a finish by the end of the week.... ( The power has gone out again sew no machine sewing for now😢)
Not only is this project being done for OPAM but also the "Sunday Stitchers Challenge"
and WOOFA with Cheryll .......
I find the more folk that push me along the better sew thank you ladies for your encouragement....
Must away and pop the kettle on the gas for a cuppa..
Stay safe

Using Scraps...
I think I have got myself in a bit of a muddle going through my scrap box by cutting up many different sizes for at least three project
and also trying to find some time to made my very first block for RSC 2020 . For this month it's green. and the small pile of green on the table is for my blocks..
For some time I've watched bloggers make the " International Sisters" block and wanted to make them. Sew for the challenge this is the block I have chosen....
I'm very happy how my "Sisters" turned out and look forward to next month's colour choice to make more...
Must away now and tidy up sew I can work on "Frolic" after dinner.
Happy Stitching

First FNSI for 2020
As it was the third Friday of the month it was great to join Wendy and 15 others for our first FNSI for 2020...
As one of our Bobbing friends was having a birthday I decided to make her a Mug Rug to go with her Hot Chocolate sachets.....
Helen loved both small gifts....
Then I went through the stash to find suitable material to make some "Aussie Hero" Blocks..
completed four ...
These two are my favorites....
Thank you Wendy for setting up our linky for FNSI even though you've been very busy.
Will pop over to visit others HERE over the next few days...
Must away to make my UFO list for Sunday Stitchers...
My thoughts are with all the folk affected by the dreadful fires especially all the firefighters and volunteers.
Hugs Maria ❤

Fun Retreat
I spent the last four days at retreat with just a small group of friends... Our "Retreat Mum" spoilt us by having this cute mug sitting on the table...

sewed 285 X 2 1/2" squares into 11 blocks for project in previous post.
Made these into a flimsy
and also got another flimsy made using this kit that had sat in my cupboard for many years....
I didn't realise my "Windmills" are turned a different way than the pattern until I took the photo........
Was pleased what I got done and there will be a few things ready for my UFO list with the Sunday Stitchers...
I did manage to take photos of a few lovely flimsys others made....
DD's project on the table.....

Linda's very old UFO is finally a quilt for her MIL...
The above blocks were made at a previous retreat sew Jo got them sewn together this time...
another of Jo's gorgeous flimsies...
Sadly I missed taking photos of other beautiful tops and Retreat Mum made four gorgeous bracelets....
May get a photo later and will post then..
Must away now and organise dinner...
Thinking of the folk affected by the fires and all volunteers doing such a great job....
Hugs Maria ❤
Love the Gnomes and their sewing machines...
Even though we enjoy lots of chatting and catching up we did get manage to work on many projects

Weekend Sewing....
This weekend I decided to cull that neverending huge scrap box
and make QAYG blocks for Jan Mac who is runs Oz Comfort Quilts which she started in 2009 ...
Cut background 11" for
10 1/2" FINISHED blocks .......
35 blocks make a quilt...
Please pop over and see how you can also help...
while sorting through the box and ironing suitable pieces I decided to also cut more 2 1/2" squares. They are for a long term project I started many years ago
and after seeing Lou's post and that she was going to work on her long term project I recognised the book and remembered I had that also lurking in my cupboard....
I am off to a retreat soon and will sew some more blocks together ...
Oh! before I go must show you my new friend "Clever Trevor"
He does a great job watering the grass around the house block......
Well must away and hugs the all the folk who are affected by the fires, especially all the helpers..
