the last two nights I have joined Wendy and 60 others for FNSI. Thank you Wendy for getting us together again. Firstly I played with my scrappy Snowballs and 9Patch blocks which I am SAL with Terry.
It won’t be the prettiest quilt when it’s finished BUT I will have used up piles of 2 1/2 inch blocks and DH will have a new quilt for the lounge…
Next I finished my February Blocks for my other SAL with Chooky and her whip cracking assistant Susan..
This is the first time I have done needle turn and I can’t say I am enjoying it YET…

This year I participated in two “Valentine” Swaps. First one is the “Initial Valentine Swap” organised by the lovely Cheryll and my partner was Marilyn from NSW ( no blog ) I made Marilyn a pincushion and used the beautiful Stitchery designed by Wendyfrom Sugar Lane Quilts which was a free gift for joining FNSIs
and yesterday I received my lovely Valentine gifts from Michell .
I was very spoilt…. thank you Michell for my gifts.

My second swap was a “Valentine Postcard” swap organised by Sheila . My partner was Janet who lives in the Yukon Canada, sew my card had a long way to travel. I was pleased it arrived on time..
Sheila also asked if we could make a special Valentine Card for Jeanneke in the Netherlands as she was celebrating her 60th birthday on Valentine’s day….
I love making and receiving these Postcards…..

and today we had a coffee at the Marina watching the little catamarans go out to sea to race..
it has been hot and muggy this afternoon before we had a thunder storms which has now knocked out the power…. DH has gone fishing sew I went into the shed put the generator on the bag trolley and got power to the house.. At least I can put a fan, the fridge and tele and not be sitting in the dark…
thankfully I still had some of DD yummy bolognaise in the freezer and we have a gas stove.
I have enjoyed a delicious tea and now I can visit my bloggy friends on my laptop ( till the battery runs out ) What have you been doing today ?????
It is always nice to sew along with Wendy and the ladies for FNSI. I decided I just needed to put my “Charming Stars” under the machine and go…
Managed to finish quilting around the stars and a small star in the centre of each.
Nearly did all the shadow quilting along the sashing when the bobbin run out . Sew called it a night. Thought I would join the Northern Hemisphere ladies last night but just couldn’t get motivated. Thank you Wendy for another lovely night sewing with you all…
Off for my walk, brekky at the cafe and a dip . Will visit the others to see what you all did for FNSI later today..
