Blocks, Blocks, and more Blocks

Over the last few days I've been busy working on lots of blocks,

Clue4  Bonnie Hunter's Mystery "On Ringo Lake"

Linking up with Mystery Monday Link Up 4

Some  Aussie Hero blocks and the first one I sewed was like this.....  Grrrrrrr ..............

sew I had to do a little reverse sewing.........

My blogging friend Mary from Needled Mom asked if anyone would like to make a few "Thomas Fire Blocks " for the folk who have lost everything in the HUGE fires in California USA.
we can send them to The Ventura Modern Quilt Guild"   who will make them into quilts and distribute...
You can find the address and pattern for the blocks HERE..

These are the ones I popped in the post today......

Then I made the last Fat Quarter "Quilt-A-Long blocks..
Wonder when I'll sew them all together ??????

Now to get back to quilting my Roundabout Quilt

Happy Stitching,
Hugz  Maria. :)

  4. Your blocks are all so pretty, Maria. Small chuckle at the one star as I can relate all too well to that. I love your fire blocks with that center fabric. Those will be very touching for those who have lost everything.

Your BH blocks are fabulous. It is a lot of little bits, but the color combinations are so pretty. Nice to have a new color to work with this week too.

  5. Thanks for the link for the Thomas Fire Blocks. It’s the first I’ve heard of it and certainly looks simple enough to whip up a few. Yours are lovely, especially with the extra added Aussie love in the centers.

And I am sure you are not the first one to sew the star block pieces in the wrong order--those are nice and bright--and neat blocks for the Calif blocks--thanks for doing that--and I still have block 11 and block 12 to do on the Patchwork blocks--and I wonder when I will get them finished and how I will put them together????? I will worry about that 'next' year!!!!!

  10. Your On Ringo Lake is going to be spectacular. You're doing a great job of keeping up. I need to make my Ventura fire blocks tonight or tomorrow. And yes, I'm know for sewing the parts of my stars on backwards! Do it frequently....

  16. Good for you doing the quilt along. I looked at it but decided I need to finish last years before I start a new one! Your mis-sewn block is funny - I know, probably not to you. :)
